Building Energy Simulation and Preparation of Tables According to LEED will be possible with advanced level trainings. The first applied seminar arranged for more efficient usage of HAP software, known and preferred in the HVAC sector, was given by the trainer Rudy Romijn, who was invited from Carrier America, between the dates of 27 - 30 March, 2006 in TTMD İstanbul Representative. Trainers assigned by TTMD for “Basic” section within the context of “Training of Trainers”; Aziz Erdoğan, Levent Acar, Nermin Köroğlu, Meliha Alaloğlu and Selen Güngör, have completed their trainings and received their certificates.

Trainers contributed to the number of licensed users reaching 210 by giving totally 16 seminars in 4 days in order to meet the extensive demand occurred within the context of the announcements made by TTMD.
TTMD arranged a new “Informative Training” between the dates of 2-4 December, 2009 upon demands of users regarding “Advance” trainings in order to take the advantage of the software more in the direction of reports obtained by them.


Advance courses are planned to be initiated in the first half of the year 2010 within the preparation of the training notes regarding the latest version of the software. Trainers, who gave “Basic” training before, will give “Advance” training and trainers who are educated recently will continue their “Basic” trainings.
TTMD has started studies regarding conditions of “Building Energy Simulation Competence Certification”, in parallel with the advance trainings, and the assessment period.


With Carrier HAP Software;

• System loads, hourly load analysis and regional loads can be calculated.


• Annual energy consumption forecasts can be done with the information of “WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR SIMULATION” and; system selection comparisons and all building sections can be made with details in a very short period of time
without logging in the software by using the “BUILDING WIZARD” option.

• Comparison tables needed for LEED certification can be created easily with the new software again.

How and Why?

In this system; activities of building and devices are estimated for 8670 hours of the year according to successive days and actual weather data.The basic principle is as follows: Simulation of the actual activity experience of the building within the year should be made in order to determine the most accurate energy and operation cost. All obligations, which have previously been specified under the title of high level energy resolutions, can be fulfilled with the said method. Accurate weather data, at which intervals and when weather conditions change, are taken into consideration in details. Additionally; the information about how many people use the building at which hour and at which day, and lighting and device usages are taken into account. Furthermore; daily and hourly changes of the building; reactions of heating, ventilation and air conditioning devices to said changes are obtained as a simulation for the whole year. Finally; high quality data will be used in order to find out accurate and detailed data regarding the amount and time of the energy use. All of those are needed for accurate operating cost estimation.
